Mercedes-Benz reveals 2027 C-Class refresh with new tech and engines
Mercedes-Benz has unveiled a significant technical and visual refresh for the 2027 C-Class, covering both the sedan and estate models. The update focuses on aligning the combustion-engine lineup with the brand’s electric offerings through enhanced electrification and advanced software.
Key exterior changes include a more upright, illuminated radiator grille, redesigned bumpers, and a new lighting signature featuring star-shaped daytime running lights. The interior retains its digital cockpit layout with a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and an 11.9-inch multimedia display, but introduces the new MB.OS operating system. This system features an AI-enhanced MBUX Virtual Assistant integrated with technologies from ChatGPT, Microsoft Bing, and Google Gemini.
Mechanically, all engines have been updated to meet Euro 7 standards. The lineup includes petrol, diesel, and plug-in hybrid options, many utilizing a second-generation 48-volt mild-hybrid system. Notably, the AMG performance range is being restructured; the previous C 63 S E Performance is being replaced by the C 53 AMG 4MATIC+, which features a 3.0-liter inline-six engine. Orders for the refreshed models are expected to open in August 2026.
