Automakers accelerate electric and hybrid vehicle transitions
The global automotive sector is seeing significant shifts toward electrification and hybrid technology. Kia has launched the second-generation Seltos in Mexico, featuring a new modular architecture and a hybrid powertrain option to compete in the SUV segment.
Mercedes-Benz is also advancing its electric strategy. The brand is testing a new electric E-Class prototype expected in 2027, which will move away from previous EQ designs toward a more traditional sedan silhouette. Additionally, the new CLA is arriving in Mexico in both hybrid and fully electric versions, utilizing the MMA architecture and AI-integrated software.
In the premium segment, Polestar has introduced the Polestar 4 SUV, offering increased cargo capacity and improved rear passenger space compared to its coupé counterpart. Meanwhile, various manufacturers are updating their regional pricing and model lineups, including SEAT and DS Automobiles in Turkey, and Renault's strategic connection between the Dacia Spring and the potential Kwid EV in India.
