Mercedes-Benz celebrates 75 years of industrial operations in Argentina

Mercedes-Benz Camiones y Buses is celebrating 75 years of industrial operations in Argentina. The company began its local production on September 6, 1951, making Argentina the first country outside of Germany to host a factory for the brand.

Over the decades, the company has produced several notable models in the country, including the L 3500, the iconic 1114, and current lines such as the Accelo and Atego trucks, as well as OH and OF bus chassis. This milestone coincides globally with the 130th anniversary of the invention of the first truck by Gottlieb Daimler in 1896.

The anniversary also highlights the broader regional presence of Daimler Truck. Mercedes-Benz do Brasil, another subsidiary, is set to celebrate 70 years of operations on September 28. The two companies work complementarily by sharing knowledge, processes, and standards to strengthen their presence in Latin America.
