Mercedes-Benz donates 500 million won to open Gwacheon child protection agency
The Mercedes-Benz Social Contribution Committee has provided 500 million won to support the opening of the Gwacheon Child Protection Agency. The facility officially began operations on September 22.
The funding, raised through the 12th ‘Give and Race’ charity running event, was used to establish offices, counseling rooms, and program rooms, as well as to purchase equipment necessary for child abuse case management and counseling. Operated by the Korea Art Psychological Counseling Association, the agency provides counseling, psychological testing, and follow-up care for abused children and their families.
This marks the third child protection agency supported by the committee, following facilities in Incheon Geomam and Jung Busan. Additional projects are currently underway in Dongducheon and Busan, with a target opening in February 2027. Since its inception in 2017, the ‘Give and Race’ event has seen approximately 165,000 participants and raised a cumulative 8.6 billion won for children and youth.
