Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 begins global electric truck expedition

Professional driver Tobias Wagner, also known as ‘Elektrotrucker’, has launched a global expedition using a Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 electric heavy-duty truck. Starting from the IAA Transportation fair in Hannover, the journey aims to cover approximately 45,000 kilometers across roughly 30 countries and five continents in less than a year.

The expedition seeks to test the capabilities of battery-electric long-distance transport under diverse climatic, geographical, and infrastructural conditions. Wagner intends to visit regions with advanced electromobility as well as areas where electric transport infrastructure remains limited. The mission is designed to be completed with fewer than 80 charging stops.

Logistics partner DHL will assist with the expedition by managing the intercontinental transport of the vehicle via sea and providing spare parts support based on the truck's location. The planned route includes Europe, Asia, Australia, North America, and South America.
