Mercedes-Benz expands electric GT lineup and luxury customization options

Mercedes-Benz and Mercedes-AMG are advancing their luxury and electric vehicle offerings through new model releases and high-end customizations.

Mercedes-AMG has announced the European launch of the GT 53 4-Door Coupe, an entry-level electric model in the GT lineup. The vehicle features dual permanent magnet synchronous motors producing 544 hp and 800 Nm of torque, enabling a 0-100 km/h acceleration in 3.5 seconds. Utilizing an 800V high-voltage battery with a 106 kWh capacity, the model achieves a range exceeding 800 km. It also supports DC rapid charging of up to 600 kW, allowing for 534 km of range to be added in just 10 minutes.

In the realm of bespoke customization, the Tokyo-based specialist shop Aoyama Pit In has completed a high-end transformation of a Mercedes GLE 400 d. The project utilizes genuine AMG GLE 63 S components, including the Panamericana grille, front bumper, and 22-inch wheels, to replicate the aesthetic of the top-tier V8 model. The exterior features a custom bi-color wrap inspired by Mercedes-Maybach styling, while an active sound system is used to simulate the presence of a V8 engine.
