Mercedes-Benz launches VLE electric Grand Limousine with 700‑km range

Mercedes‑Benz unveiled the VLE, a new electric Grand Limousine that combines the spaciousness of an MPV with the driving dynamics of a premium sedan. The vehicle is built on an 800‑volt architecture and uses a 115 kWh lithium‑ion battery that delivers a WLTP range of more than 700 km. Fast‑charging capability exceeds 300 kW, allowing roughly 355 km of extra range after a 15‑minute charge.

Two powertrains are offered: the VLE 300 with a front‑mounted 203 kW motor and front‑wheel drive, and the VLE 400 4MATIC that adds a second rear motor for a combined 310 kW and all‑wheel drive. The 5.3‑metre‑long body seats five to seven passengers, features air‑suspension, rear‑wheel steering, and a bidirectional charging system that can act as a mobile power source. Premium equipment includes reclining massage seats, a 31.3‑inch 8K entertainment screen that can split into dual 4K displays, a 22‑speaker Burmester Dolby Atmos system, ambient RGB lighting and scent nebuliser.

Pricing starts at roughly €82,260, with higher‑spec models costing more. Orders began in mid‑2026 and deliveries are slated for autumn 2026, with a U.S. launch planned for late 2027 and a longer‑wheelbase version expected in 2027. Mercedes also announced future diesel and larger‑van variants, including a Maybach‑branded model.
