Mercedes-Benz expands VLE electric lineup with all-wheel-drive model

Mercedes-Benz has expanded its VLE electric model lineup with the introduction of the VLE 400 4MATIC, a high-performance all-wheel-drive variant. Positioned as an electric ‘Grand Limousine’ rather than a van, the new model features a 310 kW system output and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds.

The vehicle is equipped with a 115 kWh NMC battery, providing a WLTP-rated range of up to 654 km. The addition of an electric motor on the rear axle is intended to improve traction and handling in challenging weather or road conditions. Furthermore, the 4MATIC version increases towing capacity to 2.5 tons, making it suitable for caravans and trailers.

In Germany, the VLE 400 4MATIC is available in five- or six-seat configurations. The gross starting price for the six-seat version is approximately €78,909, while the five-seat version starts at approximately €78,452. The existing VLE 300 model remains available, with gross prices starting at roughly €70,735.
