Mercedes-Benz GLC 400 Electric exceeds range estimates in US testing

The 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLC 400 4Matic EV has outperformed its official EPA range estimates during testing by Edmunds. In a mixed driving cycle consisting of 60 percent city and 40 percent highway driving, the vehicle achieved 392 miles (approximately 631 km) on a single charge. This result is 61 miles, or roughly 18 percent, higher than the official EPA-rated range of 331 miles.

Edmunds reported that the vehicle consumed 28.4 kWh per 100 miles, which is 14 percent less energy than the official estimate of 33 kWh. This efficiency allowed the GLC 400 EV to surpass competitors such as the Volvo EX60 and Audi Q6 e-Tron in the same testing conditions.

The vehicle features a 94 kWh battery and an 800-volt architecture, supporting fast charging up to 330 kW. This allows for a 10 to 80 percent charge in approximately 22 minutes. In Canada, pre-sales for the model have begun with a starting price of approximately 78,400 CAD.
