Mercedes-Benz launches second ‘Beyond Driving’ safety campaign

The Mercedes-Benz Social Contribution Committee has launched the second phase of its ‘Beyond Driving’ campaign, focusing on urban driving safety and etiquette. The initiative emphasizes two primary behaviors: the correct use of turn signals to communicate intentions to other drivers and pedestrians, and refraining from smartphone use to maintain focus on the road.

While the first phase of the campaign addressed highway and roundabout etiquette during the summer vacation season, this second phase expands to common urban scenarios, including lane changes, traffic congestion, and areas with high pedestrian density. The campaign is scheduled to run through the end of the year.

To maximize reach, the committee is utilizing various channels, including approximately 32,000 elevator TVs nationwide, outdoor media at major urban hubs, highway rest areas, and voice guidance through TMAP navigation.

Since 2014, the committee has provided traffic safety education to over 50,000 children through its ‘Mobile Kids’ program. As of the second quarter of this year, the committee's cumulative donations have reached approximately 51.5 billion won.
