Mercedes-Benz Malaysia previews electric GLC and CLA 200

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has previewed two upcoming models for the local market: the all-electric GLC SUV and the CLA 200 AMG Line. The CLA 200 is expected to be locally assembled at the plant in Pekan, Pahang.

The electric GLC features an 800V architecture and an 85kWh battery, offering a WLTP range between 523km and 616km. It utilizes a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system producing 310kW and 800Nm of torque. The vehicle supports DC fast charging capable of adding 255km of range in approximately 10 minutes.

The CLA 200 is presented as a hybrid model featuring a 1.5l engine paired with a 22kW electric motor. This hybrid system allows for “electric sailing” during gentle urban driving and can recuperate energy across all eight gears. Estimated pricing for the GLC variants starts at RM389,000, while the CLA 200 is estimated at RM275,000.
