Mercedes-Benz rare models set for high-value auctions

Rare Mercedes-Benz vehicles are attracting significant attention in the high-end collector market. A 1950s Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR Uhlenhaut Coupe, of which only two prototypes were ever produced, previously sold for 135 million euros (approximately 18.6 billion yen) at a private RM Sotheby’s auction held at the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart. This sale set a record for the most expensive car ever sold, surpassing previous benchmarks set by Ferrari models.

In a separate upcoming event, RM Sotheby’s will host an online auction for a 2014 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series. This specific model is notable for its extremely low mileage of only 521 kilometers and its rare Imola Grey exterior. With only 350 Black Series units produced globally, and fewer than ten featuring this specific color in US-specification, experts estimate the vehicle could reach between 1.6 million and 1.85 million dollars, though some anticipate it may exceed 2 million dollars. The auction is scheduled to run from November 25 to December 2.
