Mercedes-Benz recalls 310,667 US vehicles over door‑lock fault
Mercedes-Benz is recalling 310,667 vehicles sold in the United States after a microswitch in the driver‑door lock can corrode and fail to detect an open door. The defect may prevent the automatic parking brake (Auto Park) from engaging, creating a roll‑away risk, especially on inclined surfaces.
The recall covers seven model families – CLA, A‑Class, C‑Class, CLE, GLA, GLB and GLC – across model years from 2020 to 2026. It is limited to the U.S. market; no official recall has been announced for Turkey. Dealers will replace the faulty door‑lock microswitch free of charge. Owners can verify whether their vehicle is affected by entering the VIN on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) website. At the time of the filing, Mercedes-Benz reported no roll‑away incidents.
