Mercedes-Benz recalls GLE-Class vehicles over fuel leak risk

Mercedes-Benz has initiated a global recall affecting approximately 23,606 units of the GLE-Class (series 167) due to a potential fuel leak risk. The recall, identified by code 4790309, involves vehicles produced between August 29, 2022, and September 3, 2025.

The issue stems from a shielding plate in the engine compartment area that may not have been installed according to specifications on certain hybrid models equipped with the OM654 engine. This defect could allow fuel lines to rub against the plate, potentially causing damage and subsequent fuel leaks. Such leaks may lead to reduced system pressure or sudden loss of propulsion, increasing accident risks during driving.

Owners are advised to contact an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer with their vehicle identification number (VIN) to determine if their specific vehicle is included in the campaign. The manufacturer will inspect the shielding plate and fuel lines, performing repairs or replacements as necessary.
