Mercedes-Benz S-Class Traverses India's Highest Road in 140‑Year Anniversary Tour

Mercedes-Benz is marking its 140th anniversary with a global "140 Years. 140 Places" tour that showcases the new S-Class sedan. After launching the model on 29 January 2026, three S‑Class cars began a multi‑continent journey covering more than 50,000 km across six continents. The Indian leg will take the flagship through major cities such as Delhi, Agra, Mumbai, Jaipur and Leh, before climbing Umling La in Ladakh – a 5,799‑metre (19,024‑foot) mountain pass that is the world’s highest publicly accessible road.

During the Indian segment, classic Mercedes‑Benz vehicles and locally relevant models will accompany the S‑Class, allowing the brand to engage customers, club members and local communities. The tour, which has already visited Europe, South America, North America, other parts of Asia, Australia and New Zealand, is scheduled to conclude in Stuttgart in October 2026.
