Mercedes-Benz Trucks announces 130th anniversary Actros edition

Mercedes-Benz Trucks is releasing a special ‘130 Years Trucks Edition’ of the Actros to commemorate the invention of the truck by Gottlieb Daimler in 1896. The anniversary edition, themed ‘Legacy meets Passion’, features approximately 30 special equipment elements, including specific colors and design details inspired by the brand's history.

Notably, this is the first special series from Mercedes-Benz Trucks that can be configured with either a diesel engine or an electric battery propulsion, marking the company's transition toward electric heavy transport. The edition will be officially presented at IAA Transportation.

In related technical developments, the Mercedes-Benz Actros L 1845 is being utilized for long-haul transport, featuring an OM 471 six-cylinder diesel engine delivering 330 kW and 2,200 Nm of torque. This model is equipped with a 12-speed automated gearbox and is designed for high payload capacity and long-distance efficiency.
