Mercedes-Benz Trucks begins historical European vehicle tour
Mercedes-Benz Trucks has launched the Deutschlandfahrt 2026, a historical vehicle tour spanning approximately 1,086 kilometers. The route began on August 27 at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Wörth and will travel through Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium, and the Netherlands, concluding in Weeze on September 6.
This year’s event commemorates the 130th anniversary of the first motorized truck in the world, which was built by Gottlieb Daimler in 1896. To celebrate this milestone, Mercedes-Benz is participating with several vehicles from its historical collection, most notably an original 1899 Daimler Motor Truck.
The Deutschlandfahrt is considered a major European event for historical commercial vehicles, bringing together private collectors, companies, and enthusiasts. The tour features trucks and buses from various brands and eras, showcasing the technological evolution of road freight transport.
