Mercedes-Benz unveils detailed specs for 2027 VLE electric people‑mover
Mercedes‑Benz has released full production specifications for the 2027 VLE, an all‑electric people‑mover positioned as a premium “Grand Limousine”. The entry‑level VLE 300 will use a 203 kW front motor and a 115 kWh nickel‑manganese‑cobalt battery, while the top VLE 400 4MATIC adds a rear motor for a combined 310 kW and a 0‑100 km/h time of 6.5 seconds. Both models claim a WLTP range of over 700 km and support DC charging at more than 300 kW, adding up to 355 km in 15 minutes. Two additional, lower‑cost variants with an 80 kWh lithium‑iron‑phosphate battery are also planned for 2027.
The VLE features an 800‑volt architecture, rear‑wheel steering with a 10.9 m turning circle, optional air suspension, and a modular interior that includes a “Roll & Go” seating system and a superscreen infotainment display. Mercedes‑Benz’s MB.OS operating system integrates AI assistants powered by ChatGPT, Google Gemini and Microsoft Bing. The model was officially launched in Romania, where it is now available for configuration and order.
