Mercedes-Benz expands electric lineup with new GLA and AMG performance SUVs

Mercedes-Benz is expanding its electric vehicle lineup with several new models. The new GLA SUV is entering the market with both fully electric and hybrid options. The electric GLA features an 800-volt architecture, offering a range of up to 657 km and rapid charging capabilities. Its interior is highlighted by the MBUX Superscreen, which integrates multiple digital displays for both driver and passenger.

Mercedes-AMG is also developing a high-performance electric SUV inspired by the AMG GT design language. Built on the dedicated AMG.EA platform, this upcoming model is expected to deliver extreme power, with some versions potentially reaching up to 1,500 CV. The vehicle will likely utilize axial-flux motors from YASA to maintain a compact and efficient powertrain. The AMG GT SUV is expected to feature aggressive styling, including a muscular silhouette and distinctive LED lighting signatures.

Additionally, the luxury segment is being addressed by the Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV, which emphasizes high-end design with exclusive two-tone paintwork and premium materials. The brand is also introducing the all-electric CLA, which utilizes a new modular platform for compact luxury vehicles and includes features such as a 101-litre frunk.
