Mercedes-Benz updates C-Class with AI technology and hybrid engines
Mercedes-Benz has introduced a major technological update to its C-Class lineup, marking the most significant digital and mechanical overhaul in the model's history. The updated series features enhanced Euro 7 hybrid powertrains with an electric range of up to 100 kilometers and introduces a four-wheel steering system.
The interior has been upgraded with the fourth-generation MBUX infotainment system, which integrates artificial intelligence through partnerships with ChatGPT, Microsoft Bing, and Google Gemini. The digital cockpit includes a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and a vertical 11.9-inch central touchscreen.
Regarding performance variants, the current C-Class generation is expected to transition toward a C53 AMG model equipped with a hybrid inline-six engine. While purists hope for the return of a V8 engine in the C63 AMG, such a configuration may only be possible in future generations depending on European emissions regulations. Additionally, some markets have seen price reductions of up to 12 percent for the C-Class sedan.
