Mercedes-Benz expands electric and hybrid vehicle lineup

Mercedes-Benz is advancing its electrification strategy through several new model developments and technical upgrades. The company has introduced the Mercedes-AMG GT SUV, an all-electric performance vehicle developed on the dedicated AMG.EA platform. The top-tier GT 63 SUV variant delivers up to 860 kW (approximately 1,169 hp) and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in under three seconds.

In the luxury segment, the Mercedes-Benz VLE (Grand Limousine) is now available with all-wheel drive, featuring a high-capacity 115 kWh battery and a range of up to 654 km under WLTP standards. Additionally, the upcoming all-electric E-Class is undergoing testing; it is expected to utilize an 800-volt architecture to support fast charging up to 350 kW and potentially offer a range of up to 800 km.

For performance enthusiasts, the Mercedes-AMG E 53 4Matic plug-in hybrid combines a turbocharged inline-six engine with an electric motor to produce 585 hp. While the increased weight of the hybrid system is noted, the model maintains a 0 to 100 km/h time of 4.1 seconds and an electric range of approximately 97 km. The brand is also refining its SUV lineup, including updates to the GLE and GLB models to integrate more cohesive design languages across its internal combustion and electric fleets.
