Mercedes-Benz vehicles linked to F1 figures draw attention

Mercedes-AMG F1 Team principal Toto Wolff has drawn attention in Monaco while driving a Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR, a rare vehicle valued at approximately $10 million. The CLK GTR is a highly exclusive ‘homologation special’ created to meet FIA GT Championship regulations in 1997. Only 28 units were produced, featuring a 6.9-liter V12 AMG engine and a carbon fiber monocoque.

Separately, a Mercedes C 230 Kompressor previously owned by three-time Formula 1 world champion Niki Lauda is set for auction in Salzburg. The 1999 station wagon, which Lauda owned for nearly two years, shows significant wear, including dents, paint damage, and rust, after being stored on a farm in Lower Austria. Despite its condition and high mileage of approximately 260,000 kilometers, the vehicle remains a notable piece of racing history.
