Mercedes-Benz VLE display vehicle crashes into wall at Paris Motor Show
A Mercedes-Benz VLE electric minivan display vehicle crashed into a stand wall during the Paris Motor Show at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. The incident occurred when two children, estimated to be no older than 12, were inside the parked vehicle. One child reportedly managed to activate the electric powertrain and engage the reverse gear.
Social media footage shows a product specialist unsuccessfully attempting to stop the bronze-colored minivan before it struck the exhibition backdrop. The impact caused visible damage to the stand wall. Both children exited the vehicle and were approached by security personnel following the collision.
The VLE is a luxury electric minivan concept scheduled to enter the United States market for the 2028 model year. It features advanced technology, including an MBUX Superscreen and a 31.3-inch panoramic ceiling screen. The extent of the damage to the vehicle and the cost of repairing the exhibition stand have not yet been determined.
