Mercedes celebrates 34th anniversary with music and trade fair
The city of Mercedes is celebrating its 34th anniversary of political emancipation with a series of festivities, including the Expo Mercedes trade fair. The opening night featured a performance by the band Roupa Nova, which drew thousands of attendees to a large covered structure at the Clube Grêmio Mercedes.
As part of the celebrations, the event organizers implemented a solidarity initiative where admission to major musical performances, such as the show by Pedro Paulo & Alex, is granted through the donation of a carton of long-life milk. These donations are intended for regional hospitals providing cancer treatments.
The weekend program includes the Expo Mercedes, featuring approximately 60 exhibitors from the industrial, commercial, and agricultural sectors. The festivities conclude on Sunday with the traditional National Stuffed Rib Festival (Festa Nacional do Costelão Recheado), which involves the preparation of over 3,500 kilograms of meat.
