Mercedes Clase V platform powers new electric VLE cinema van and Dartz armored Shere Khan hotel shuttle

Mercedes unveiled the VLE, an all‑electric version of its Clase V van built on the Van Electric Architecture platform. It carries a 115 kWh battery that delivers up to 700 km (WLTP) and can charge from 10 % to 80 % in about 25 minutes at 300 kW. Inside, a hidden 8K screen can be split into two 31‑inch panels for separate passenger viewing, complemented by a four‑zone climate system, panoramic roof blinds and heated, electrically adjustable seats. The VLE will be available for order in late 2026, with a longer wheel‑base version slated for 2027, and will be manufactured in Spain.

Dartz Motorz used the same Mercedes Clase V chassis to create the Pullman Shere Khan, a black‑and‑gold van designed as an ultra‑luxury hotel shuttle. The vehicle features composite armor meeting STANAG 2 and BR10+ standards, anti‑drone technology, and protection against a 6 kg TNT mine blast. Inside, the cabin is finished with real wood, gold accents and premium leather seats, echoing an “Old‑Money” lounge. Pricing is estimated at about €350,000, and delivery will require approval from German type‑approval authorities such as TÜV.
