Mercedes drivers rank worst for parking in European study

A European study of 913 cars in five major cities found that drivers of Mercedes vehicles have the highest rate of improper parking, with 25% of observed Mercedes cars parked incorrectly. BMW and Tesla also appear among the top five brands with poor parking habits.

The research, conducted by car‑rental comparison site DiscoverCars, examined parking behavior in Paris, Manchester, Rome, Amsterdam and Barcelona. Paris recorded the second‑worst city rate at 18%, just behind Barcelona at 19%, while the overall average across all cities was 16%.

Aleksandrs Buraks of DiscoverCars noted that the larger size of premium cars may contribute to the difficulty in parking correctly, but also emphasized that parking errors are not limited to luxury brands, citing Volkswagen and Citroën among the lower‑ranked brands.
