Mercedes F1 stresses calm and disciplined development after summer break

Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team entered the post‑summer break period holding an eight‑win lead in the Drivers' and Constructors' Championships. Vice Team Principal Bradley Lord warned that the second half of the season is the most demanding, with fewer races and intensified travel, and urged the crew to keep calm, stay disciplined and avoid emotional reactions to technical issues. Technical director Simone Resta echoed the need for a methodical approach, stressing careful evaluation of chassis and power‑unit upgrades to preserve reliability and balance.

Team principal Toto Wolff responded to recent criticism from Ferrari, noting that the Italian rival is now much closer in performance. Wolff rejected the notion that Mercedes could repeat the dominant early‑hybrid era of 2014, saying any mistake in setup or development could quickly put the team in difficulty. The leadership’s focus remains on measured progress rather than frantic development as the championship heads into its decisive phase.
