Mercedes G-Class leads ranking for best vehicle resale value

A new evaluation by Auto Bild and vehicle valuation specialist JD Power Schwacke has identified which car models retain their value best over time. The study focuses on projected residual values after three years and 60,000 kilometers across eleven vehicle classes.

The Mercedes G-Class leads the ranking, with the G 450 d model projected to retain 69.5 percent of its original list price after three years. In the small car category, the Dacia Sandero (specifically the Sandero Stepway TCe 110 in Expression trim) was highlighted for its high resale value, driven by a low entry price and stable demand in the used car market.

In the compact class, the Audi A3 Sportback (110 kW/150 PS in S line trim) is projected to retain 54.3 percent of its value. In the mid-size segment, the BMW 420d Coupé (190 PS) leads with a projected residual value of 54.5 percent.
