Mercedes-Maybach GLS and Lucid Gravity set new luxury SUV standards for 2026
Mercedes‑Maybach unveiled the GLS 2026, a flagship SUV built as a mobile lounge with an emphasis on rear‑seat comfort, advanced sound‑insulation, and extensive customization. The model targets chauffeur‑driven customers, offering premium materials, adjustable suspension and a cabin ambience that mirrors a limousine while retaining a commanding road presence.
At the same time, Lucid presented the Gravity Grand Touring, an electric SUV that combines a flat, space‑efficient profile with seven seats and over 3,000 liters of cargo capacity. Weighing close to three tonnes, the 5.04‑meter‑long vehicle delivers up to 1,251 hp and 1,940 Nm of torque, featuring a panoramic glass roof, a continuous light strip and a repositioned steering wheel for an unobstructed digital display. Both concepts illustrate the push toward ultra‑luxury, high‑performance, and highly customizable large SUVs for the mid‑2020s market.
