Mercedes Moné wins AEW Women’s World Championship

Mercedes Moné has captured the AEW Women’s World Championship after defeating Willow Nightingale at All In: London. This victory follows Moné’s win in the 2026 Women’s Owen Hart Cup, which earned her the title shot.

Wrestling analyst Dave Meltzer has highlighted Moné’s historic career achievements, noting she is the first person to hold championships in WWE, CMLL, New Japan (IWGP and Strong), and AEW. Meltzer also emphasized her experience performing at iconic venues, including the Tokyo Dome, Madison Square Garden, Wembley Stadium, and Arena Mexico.

Due to these accomplishments, Moné’s credentials for the Wrestling Observer Hall of Fame are being discussed. Meltzer noted that while Japanese women have been inducted, no American woman has been voted into the Hall of Fame during the current voting era, though he suggested Moné deserves serious consideration.
