Mercedes-Benz unveils next‑generation Maybach S‑Class and plans electric Baby G SUV

Mercedes‑Maybach has introduced the new generation of the S‑Class limousine, featuring the Mercedes‑Benz Operating System (MB.OS) with AI‑driven assistance, over‑the‑air updates and an enhanced MBUX Superscreen. The model adds new interior materials, extensive personalization via the MANUFAKTUR program, and a range of powertrains that include mild‑hybrid six‑ and eight‑cylinder engines and, in markets where it remains, the iconic V12.

Mercedes also announced a smaller, more affordable G‑Class SUV – the “Baby G” – slated for a July reveal. Production will shift to its expanded plant in Kecskemét, Hungary, boosting capacity to about 400,000 units a year. The vehicle will launch in early 2027, offered with both hybrid‑gasoline and fully electric powertrains, the latter delivering roughly 354 hp and an estimated 700 km range. The move underscores Mercedes’ strategy to broaden its lineup while increasing manufacturing efficiency.
