Mercedes‑AMG refreshes GLE 63 S and GLS 63 SUVs with new 4.0 L V8 EVO for 2027

Mercedes‑AMG has unveiled updated 2027 versions of its high‑performance GLE 63 S and GLS 63 SUVs. Both models receive a redesigned 4.0‑litre twin‑turbo V8 (M177 EVO) that retains 612 hp (450 kW) and 850 Nm of torque, with a 48‑volt mild‑hybrid system adding about 23 hp and 205 Nm. The engine features a flat‑plane crankshaft, revised intake and exhaust ports, a new camshaft and an upgraded fuel‑injection system, meeting the forthcoming Euro 7 emissions standard.

Performance figures show the GLE 63 S accelerating from 0–100 km/h in roughly 3.9 seconds and the GLS 63 in about 4.2 seconds, both limited to a top speed of 280 km/h. exterior updates include a new AMG grille, larger air intakes and refreshed LED lighting, while wheel options expand to 22‑inch (GLE) and 23‑inch (GLS). Both SUVs retain AMG Ride Control+ adaptive suspension, active roll‑control and all‑wheel‑drive with a limited‑slip differential. Inside, the latest MB.OS infotainment system and optional Nappa leather trim are offered, alongside the Manufaktur personalization program.

Pricing and official launch dates have not been announced, and regulatory approvals for emissions and fuel‑consumption figures are pending.
