Mercedes-AMG unveils 680‑hp electric CLA 45 4MATIC+ with 0‑100 km/h in 2.7 s

Mercedes‑AMG introduced the all‑electric CLA 45 4MATIC+ at Goodwood, offering 500 kW (680 hp) from three axial‑flux motors—two on the rear axle and one on the front. The powertrain propels the sedan and Shooting Brake versions from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds and can reach up to 270 km/h with the AMG DYNAMIC PLUS package. A 94 kWh, 800‑volt battery provides a WLTP range of about 670 km (Limousine) or 640 km (Shooting Brake) and can be charged from 10 % to 80 % in roughly 22 minutes at 330 kW. The model retains classic AMG traits through simulated four‑cylinder engine sound, haptic seat‑vibration, and the AMGFORCE S+ driver mode. It also adds active aerodynamics, adaptive AMG RIDE CONTROL suspension, and a new MBUX system powered by AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Bing and Gemini. The CLA platform was named Car of the Year 2026 and rated the safest vehicle by Euro NCAP in 2025, underscoring the high‑performance electric offering’s blend of speed, technology and safety.
