Mercer Island High School girls soccer starts season with 4-1-1 record

Mercer Island High School’s girls varsity soccer team has begun the season with a 4-1-1 record under new head coach Mark Nowak. The team has demonstrated strong defensive and offensive play, outscoring opponents 21-2 through their initial matches.

Team leaders, including senior tri-captains Jackie Gonzalez, Hayden Feimster, and junior goalkeeper Izzy Russell, have attributed their success to improved technical pressing and team chemistry. The squad is scheduled to play an away match against Juanita on September 24.
