Merco Empresas 2026 rankings highlight sector leaders in Peru and Panama

The Merco Empresas 2026 rankings have released results for Peru and Panama, highlighting leaders in various sectors based on corporate reputation and social legitimacy.

In Peru, Minsur secured the top position in the mining sector for the second consecutive year, ranking 38th overall. Marcobre also achieved a notable position, placing ninth within its sector. Minsur’s leadership emphasizes that reputation is built on operational performance, ethics, and sustainability, serving as a strategic asset to maintain legitimacy and social validation within its territories.

In Panama, TVN Media rose to 16th place in the general Merco Empresas ranking, moving up from 18th. The company also claimed the first-place position among media organizations. The study, which surveyed over 16,000 stakeholders, evaluated dimensions such as financial results, talent, ethics, and innovation. While labor quality was noted as a strength in the Panamanian business ecosystem, innovation was identified as a key area for improvement.
