Mercociudades launches regional project training in San José

The 20th regional project formulation training session of the Mercociudades South-South Cooperation Program has commenced in San José, Uruguay. The event, which runs until Friday the 21st, brings together representatives from local governments, social organizations, and academic institutions from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Uruguay.

Twenty-eight proposals have been selected for this edition, which focuses on care, innovation, security, and resilience. The program includes both in-person training and virtual support to help participants transform ideas into concrete territorial solutions.

Local officials, including San José Mayor Ana María Bentaberri and the executive director of the Uruguayan Agency for International Cooperation (Auci), Martín Clavijo, emphasized the importance of decentralized cooperation and regional exchange to address shared challenges.
