Mercure Kyoto Station to host traditional Koto and Shakuhachi live music

Mercure Kyoto Station has announced its second traditional music event, a ‘Koto & Shakuhachi Live’ performance scheduled for October 31, 2026. The event will take place in the hotel's first-floor social lounge, which features a design inspired by Gagaku music.

Following a successful Koto-only performance in August 2025, this upcoming session will feature both the koto and the shakuhachi to showcase the interplay between these two traditional Japanese instruments. The event is open to hotel guests, local residents, and visitors to Kyoto.

The performances are divided into two sessions: 17:00–18:00 and 19:00–20:00. Admission is priced at 4,000 yen per person or 6,000 yen for a pair.
