Mercurio Festival begins eighth edition in Italy
The eighth edition of the Mercurio Festival begins on September 19 at Spazio Open within the Cantieri Culturali alla Zisa. The festival opens with a preview titled ‘Crescere, la guerra’, a production by journalist and writer Francesca Mannocchi and musician Rodrigo D’Erasmo, directed by Giorgina Pi.
The performance explores the impact of war on daily life, drawing on testimonies from regions such as Gaza, Afghanistan, and Syria to examine how violence alters human memory and perception. This project is linked to a book published by Einaudi in March 2026 and a live vinyl recording.
Following the opening, the festival will feature ‘DMT – Death Mort Tod’ by Marìka Pugliatti from September 20 to September 24. This project combines theater, immersive performance, and installation, produced in collaboration with Gibellina Off.
