Mercyful Fate to headline Spain's Leyendas del Rock Festival 2027

The Danish heavy‑metal band Mercyful Fate announced its first live performance in three years, confirming a headlining slot at the Leyendas del Rock Festival in Villena, Alicante, Spain, scheduled for 11–14 August 2027. The band shared the news on social media on 6 August, writing, “España! Mercyful Fate will be playing Leyendas del Rock Festival 2027! We will see you next August… Stay Heavy!”.

The appearance will be the group's first concert since playing Brazil’s Summer Breeze festival on 28 April 2024. Mercyful Fate’s current lineup features vocalist King Diamond, guitarists Hank Shermann and Mike Wead, drummer Bjarne T. Holm and bassist Becky Baldwin, who became a permanent member in January 2024. Formed in Copenhagen in 1981, the band is regarded as a seminal act in heavy metal history.
