Mercyhurst Invitational volleyball features split results on day one

Mercyhurst Invitational college volleyball women's soccer Siena Saints Mercyhurst Lakers

The first day of the Mercyhurst Invitational featured split results for both the host Mercyhurst Lakers and the Siena Saints.

Mercyhurst opened the tournament with a 3-0 loss to Morehead State before rebounding to defeat Siena 3-2 in a five-set match. Siena, in turn, secured a victory against Cleveland State in four sets but fell to the Lakers in their evening matchup.

Siena's win over Cleveland State was notable as the first time the program has defeated the Vikings in three attempts. Mary Claire Deacy led Siena with 14 kills in the win against Cleveland State.
