Merdeka Copper Gold increases stake in Merdeka Gold Resources

PT Merdeka Copper Gold Tbk (MDKA) has increased its ownership in its subsidiary, PT Merdeka Gold Resources Tbk (EMAS), through a series of share purchases conducted between July 28 and August 12, 2026. According to disclosures from the Indonesia Stock Exchange, MDKA acquired approximately 100.56 million shares of EMAS during this period.

Following these transactions, MDKA’s total holdings in EMAS rose from approximately 9.33 billion shares to 9.43 billion shares, increasing its voting rights from 63.33% to 64.01%. MDKA remains the controlling shareholder. President Director Albert Saputro stated that the acquisitions are for investment purposes and align with the company’s long-term interest in the growth of EMAS and the development of the Pani Gold Mine.

In the second quarter of 2026, EMAS reported a significant production increase at the Pani Gold Mine, producing 15,594 ounces of gold and 29,796 ounces of silver. Gold sales also rose to 6,439 ounces, with an average selling price of US$ 4,382 per ounce.
