MERIAN launches Europe‑focused issue celebrating the continent’s diversity

German travel magazine MERIAN has released a new issue dedicated to Europe, presenting 22 destinations from Finland to Albania and from Istria to Valencia. The edition combines travel reports with personal encounters, essays and a new regular column by bestseller author Jan Weiler.

Editor‑in‑chief Tinka Dippel says the issue aims to show how “Europe is a great fortune, allowing us to move between different cultures, landscapes and ways of life,” while highlighting that this fortune is not guaranteed. Special contributions include memories from presenter and actress Désirée Nosbusch about her Luxembourg roots, an interview with European Ombudswoman Teresa Anjinho about her favourite places in Strasbourg, and an essay on European freedom by journalist Nils Minkmar.

Published by Jahreszeiten Verlag, the issue seeks to inspire readers to rediscover Europe through a mix of well‑known sites and hidden gems, offering cultural, geographical and societal perspectives on the continent.
