Merion Golf Club named fourth U.S. Open Anchor Site

The United States Golf Association (USGA) has designated Merion Golf Club as its fourth U.S. Open Anchor Site. This designation establishes a long-term partnership intended to facilitate strategic investments and advanced planning for future championships at the historic venue.

Merion joins Pinehurst Resort & Country Club, Oakmont Country Club, and Pebble Beach Golf Links as anchor sites. The club’s upcoming championship schedule includes the 2030, 2040, and 2050 U.S. Opens, as well as the U.S. Women’s Open in 2034 and 2046.

John Bodenhamer, the USGA chief championships officer, stated that the designation represents a commitment to elevate the championship experience and build upon the venue's legacy. Merion has a significant history in the sport, having hosted notable events such as the 2013 U.S. Open won by Justin Rose.
