Meritocrazia Italia holds 8th National Congress in Rome
The Meritocrazia Italia movement concluded its 8th National Congress at the Teatro Quirino in Rome. The event, themed ‘L’Agenda politica del Merito – UTILE’ (Equality, Transparency, Education, Labor, Economy), drew over 620 participants, including delegates, institutional representatives, and professionals, despite nationwide strikes occurring in Italy.
National President Walter Mauriello highlighted several legislative proposals aimed at social and economic reform. A primary focus was the introduction of a ‘Testo Unico sull’Intelligenza Artificiale’ (Unified Text on Artificial Intelligence), a proposed framework designed to regulate innovation while protecting human labor, craftsmanship, and professional dignity from being entirely replaced by algorithms.
Other key legislative challenges presented include a Unified Text for Social Affairs, meritocratic reforms for Public Administration, healthcare improvements, and protections for families and education. The congress also approved a motion to strengthen active citizenship initiatives across Italy to encourage higher voter participation.
