Meriton Korenica excluded from Kosovo national team squad

Meriton Korenica, the FCSB midfielder and Kosovo international, has been excluded from the Kosovo squad for their UEFA Nations League match against Austria. Although he traveled to Vienna for the fixture, head coach Franco Foda did not include him on the matchday sheet.

Korenica, who joined FCSB from CFR Cluj in September for 600,000 euros, was also absent from the squad during Kosovo’s recent 1-0 victory over Ireland, watching the match from the stands. He has not played for the national team in approximately one year.

Other Liga 1 players, such as FC Argeș defender Leard Sadriu, remain part of the national selection. Korenica hopes to return to the squad for upcoming fixtures against Israel and the home match against Austria.
