Merkezefendi City Theater opens applications for new season

Merkezefendi City Theater is preparing for its 2026-2027 season following a successful 2025-2026 term. During the previous season, the theater staged eight different plays across 96 performances, attracting approximately 18,000 attendees. Additionally, the second International Children and Youth Theater Festival hosted 14 theater teams and drew 13,500 spectators across 30 shows.

Applications are now open for new educational programs and auditions. The theater is offering acting auditions for citizens aged 15 and older, with selections scheduled for September 19 and 20 at the Merkezefendi Cultural Center. Online applications for these auditions must be completed by September 18.

Other upcoming programs include a drama course for children aged 7 to 14, designed to improve communication and self-confidence, and a dramatic writing course for those aged 15 and older. The theater also plans to host the International Children and Youth Theater Festival again in the new season.
