Merkezefendi's MAKUT Team Secures AFAD Accreditation in Denizli

The Merkezefendi Municipality's search and rescue unit, known as MAKUT, successfully completed the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) urban search‑and‑rescue accreditation exam. The team demonstrated competence in rubble search, victim rescue, coordination, equipment use, safety procedures and overall disaster response, earning the status of Denizli's 15th accredited urban search‑and‑rescue team.

With the accreditation, MAKUT can be deployed not only within Denizli province but also to other regions of Turkey when emergencies arise. The municipality maintains a dedicated training area and modern equipment to sustain the team's readiness and to support broader disaster‑response efforts across the country.
