Merlin appoints Jon Glass as General Counsel
Merlin has appointed Jon Glass as its new General Counsel. Based in New York, Glass will report to CEO Charlie Lexton and will lead both the Business & Legal Affairs function and the Partnerships team.
This appointment marks a structural change for the digital music licensing organization, as it is the first time these two closely aligned, partner-facing departments will operate under a single leader. The move is intended to coordinate how the company manages partner relationships as the digital landscape evolves.
Glass joins Merlin following a long career in the recorded music industry, most recently serving as Senior Vice President and Head of Digital Legal Affairs at Warner Music Group for 16 years. His previous experience includes roles at Sony Music Entertainment and practicing law at firms such as Morrison & Foerster LLP.
