Merridale Cidery launches ‘Harvest for Hounds’ campaign with BC SPCA
Merridale Cidery & Distillery has launched the ‘Harvest for Hounds’ campaign in the Cowichan Valley, partnering with the BC SPCA to support animal welfare. The initiative was inspired by Mika, a rescue dog that became a member of the Docherty family and an ambassador for the BC SPCA.
The campaign aims to raise awareness and provide support for the BC SPCA Cowichan & District Community Animal Centre. As part of the festivities, the distillery will welcome dogs and their owners into the working orchard throughout the harvest season.
The event schedule includes 35 days of orchard experiences, such as apple harvesting activities and seasonal food. The season kicks off on September 27 with the 8th Annual BC Cider Harvest Festival, featuring more than 10 craft cideries, and will continue through October 31.
