Mersin almond sapling project reaches first harvest

Mersin Metropolitan Municipality has seen the first harvest from its almond sapling distribution project in the Gülnar district. Under the coordination of the Agricultural Services Department, the project provides 50 percent grant support to producers to distribute almond varieties suitable for the region's climate and soil.

In total, 34,204 almond saplings have been distributed across Mersin, with 23,288 of those located in Gülnar. The project aims to support sustainable production and increase agricultural income for local farmers. Producers who received saplings in 2021 have begun harvesting their first crops, which they expect to become a significant source of income in the future.
